Not long after the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X2 became available, info on the impeding release and expected price of the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 came up – for the UK at least. And not a moment too soon – Sony Ericsson can’t afford to wait till everyone gets a Nexus One.

The Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 is expected to arrive in the UK on February 19th, with a recommended retail price of 550 British pounds (610 euro or 885 US dollars) for an unlocked handset. The XPERIA X10 is currently up for preorder for a slightly lower price – 500 pounds (554 euro, 800 US dollars), which puts it closer to the price of the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X2.

The XPERIA X10 is a Sony Ericsson first – both on the Android and the Snapdragon front. With a heavily customized UI running on a 4″ capacitive touchscreen with 854 x 480 pixels resolution, the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 can hold its own even against the Nexus One.

The 8-megapixel autofocus camera and the 8GB microSD card in box (up to 16GB cards supported) sound great too. For a more in-depth look, we have a couple of previews of the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 you can check out.
