Early Christmas 2010 Ideas, what to get for the Tech nut in your life.

As a Technology nut I am always looking out for the latest and greatest piece of technology that I can find.  Every year at huge events like the mobile communities “Mobile World Congress” event and the gaming communities “E3 Expo”, we are given a huge list of upcoming products and many times they are slated for a Holiday season release.  Like the tech junkie I am, I follow the blogs, forums, and sites through it all, and by the end I know what I want for Xmas.

The problem that comes up is that I like many of you I am sure have a significant other who is not a tech junkie, so I decided why not put together a little wish list for all the significant others in our lives.  After all, they deserve the help, they have to put up with and listen to all our talk of “Froyo is coming out!” or “Hold on a sec I have to finish downloading a ROM”.

First on my list this Xmas is Microsoft’s new addition to gaming, the Xbox 360 Kinect.  Kinect is the future of gaming, it uses a camera and sensors to enable a game to put down the controller and use body movements to control the game.  You simply let Kinect scan you and you stand up and play the game with real body movement as opposed to a controller.  See Kinect in action on YouTube Here.

Next on my list is another Microsoft product, Windows Phone 7 series.  Now I know I have written that I ditched Windows Mobile for Android, but the inner WinMo lover refuses to die, and I still cling to the notion that Windows 7 series phones can save the Windows Mobile brand.  The designs and hands on that we have seen at Mobile World Congress and since, have showed a simple yet elegant approach to a mobile phone OS, and Microsoft has shown to have beautiful cloud storage implementation. Also with manufactures such as HTC, Samsung, Dell, LG, and ASUS on board, some cool hardware is sure to come out.

Last on my list is for the Android lover, ASUS Android tablets!  If you significant other is like me and is not a big Apple fan, then worry not reports show that Android tablets will be here for the holiday season.

Digitimes reports:

According to Digitimes and known sources Acer will launch a 7-inch and a 10-inch tablet PC in the fourth quarter, both based on the ARM architecture and Android . The tablet PCs will integrate multimedia entertainment capabilities and feature support for Adobe Flash with Android 2.2 and 3G connectivity . These Android 2.2 powered tablets could land up in the market around Q4 2010 .

Now keep in mind this list might change, new devices will be announced, release dates might be changed and so on.  So if your reading this sweetheart don’t order just yet…..

Also for all fellow tech junkies, remember that it is an expensive hobby, so make sure you head over to the nearest Jewelry store or get those game tickets they always wanted, after all they tolerate your constant need for a tech fix and deserve something nice as well.

Happy shopping everyone, and leave a comment and tell us what your list is…..

  • Josh Kelly says:

Thought the Kinect bundle was $399? The standard 360 S model is $299, no?

If it’s only $299 for both down there, I’m coming down and wringing some necks. :P

  • I think whatever Microsoft wants by now, we should just give it to them! LOL, how much to blow your mind away? I played a few games with the Kinect at E3, and its worth every penny.

The new windows 7 cell phone, will change everything we know, on how to use a cell phone, and to be honest I don’t like it. I don’t think its worth the money, I don’t think any phone is, because at the end of the day, guess what? Its still just a phone! HA HA
