Engadget Torches RIM’s Pride

The guys over @ Engadget were not holding back on what they thought of RIM’s new flagship device the BlackBerry Torch 9800. I used to think Engadget were mainly some whiny Apple fan boys but I have grown to understand they are doing the exact thing I do with technology. You can’t and won’t always like every product that comes out and must use the markets “standard” of tech as your baseline before passing judgment on what is expected for devices out there.

I highly recommend you take some time to check out the clip I extracted from the Engadget Show which is always popping up on their page along with the freshest news and reviews (it keeps us on out toes even) The fact is RIM launched this device and while it isn’t the worst of devices it still isn’t hitting as a 2010 device with all these smartphones packing in the Ghz chips and other bells and whistles RIM is just trying to make whats up to par and nothing more. During almost this whole clip they are trying to load the Engadget site and it took way to long (granted it could be the network we can still see lag in the data transfer) Also one thing to point out was the touch screen responsiveness that was lacking and later in the full show you see them mess with a Windows concept phone that (even in concept form) blows the responsiveness away.

Now all this might be fixed in due time with software updates, but then again we know how RIM is with updates haha. Check out the clip below and then head over to the source link to check out the whole show!

I am the Owner/Founder of WJDDesigns.com & GizmoNinja.com , I was born in to a world that was emerging on the frontier of technology. Within time I self taught himself everything from coding to graphic design and wanted to bring my creations to the public by the masses. With the new growing world of mobile applications I could achieve just that. I am always looking to learn something new and provide the best service and information I can. I am really a cool and calm type of guy who is more of a lounge party setting then going to the loudest rock concert ever. When I go out to eat at fancy places the ambiance is what I comment on first, if the ambiance is poor then my food doesn’t go down as good. I look at everything around me that has different shapes and colors which creates ideas I use in my everyday projects. I try to live life to the fullest when life dishes out free time. I love to teach everyone I know who isn’t as tech literate as myself and give them more information to better their decisions. The progression in technology is life, it’s my life.
