Compare Android devices easily with Google Phone Gallery.

When it comes to Android phones, there are definitely a lot of choices to be had out there and finding the right device can sometimes be a daunting task.  Google is trying to become even more user friendly by adding it’s new “Phone Gallery” service which is a search database of current Android devices running Google services.  This means that if you are looking for your first, or next Android device chances are you can find them there.  Currently the gallery will show you where you can grab the device, as well as all of it’s features and specs.  Right now Motorola, LG, Samsung, and HTC are the current manufacturers to make the list, but you wont find any phones featuring Bing and Yahoo services.  Check out the story and links below and be sure to let us know if you have already starting using this service and what you think of it.

With so many excellent Android phones on the market, Google aims to make the selection process easier for consumers with its new Phone Gallery service: a database of the Android powered devices that deliver the best Google experience. In fact, the gallery only lists phones that come with Google services such as Android Market, Google Search, Gmail, Maps and YouTube. Thus, Android devices featuring Bing and Yahoo are not allowed to join the party.

There are tools for side-by-side comparisons, and handsets can be filtered by country, manufacturer and carrier. The phone gallery also lets you view and compare technical specifications and features, and it tells you where each phone can be acquired: all to make it easier for us to discover and evaluate Android devices.

HTC, Samsung, Motorola and LG are currently the only manufacturers with phones in the gallery, though Google will keep adding handsets and countries and make the database grow. Back in January this year, Google started selling the Nexus One from its own online store located at the beautifully simple URL — that page is now used for the Android Phone Gallery.

Are you going to use Google Phone Gallery when it’s time to find your next Android device? What’s good and what’s missing?
