Telus To Get Samsung Galaxy S Fascinate; Includes One SIM Card More Than Verizon

Well, as a Canadian, – as  the rest of the team makes absolutely sure every reader knows – we’ve grown accustomed to two things when it comes to phones;

1) High prices

2) Phones that are now mid-level / outdated in the US.

Well, the tide’s finally turning. With Bell offering the Vibrant, and Rogers offering the Captivate as of Monday, Telus is throwing their hat in the Samsung ring, and getting an HSPA+ enabled Fascinate. For those of you that don’t know, the standard specs of any Galaxy S device is a 4-inch Super AMOLED display, running at 800 x 480 resolution, a 1 GHz Hummingbird processor, seperate graphics processing, a 5MP camera, HD video recording (720p), and running Eclair 2.1. These devices have become the standard spec-wise for Android devices, and it’s nice to see them start heading up here. No release dates have been announced, but we’ll keep you guys posted.

Any Telus readers out there? Is this a device you’d be interested in? Please, let us know in the comments.

While other are carriers have made the Vibrant and Captivate available, TELUS released the Galaxy Apollo… good news as a higher end Galaxy is coming to TELUS and it’s the Galaxy S Fascinate. No details on pricing or when this will be released… but it’s “coming soon”. Some quick specs of the Fascinate are that it’s expected to be released with Android OS 2.1, has a 4-inch super AMOLED display (resolution of 800 x 480), 1 GHz processor, 5-megapixel camera, LED flash and video capabilities and WiFi.
