Transparent Screens with some OLED Love

| October 5, 2010 | Reply

Welcome to a glimpse in to the future. Browsing through the information highway I stumbled upon an article by Engadget showing us visualizations of leading companies competing in the transparent OLED market. What is OLED you ask? An organic light emitting diode (OLED) is a light-emitting diode (LED) in which the emissive electroluminescent layer is a film of organic compounds which emits light in response to an electric current. This layer of organic semiconductor material is situated between two electrodes. Generally, at least one of these electrodes is transparent. Imagine a thinner way of presenting a screen with greater flexibility in shape. Just think, pretty soon we could wrap out televisions and phones around a paper towel tube. What if you could take a hammer to your TV and have nothing in the screen break. This new passive matrix transparent display makes my jaw drop. What if you could be one step closer in making your Iron Man fantasies come true. Maybe soon our cars will have built in displays in the glass to help with navigation. The possibilities are endless and right now we are taking baby steps. I guarantee within time you will start seeing these things pop up in the mobile market and soon in every house hold. Check out the other pic we got for you and a video below with a catchy Japanese song to the tune of AMOLED!

I am the Owner/Founder of & , I was born in to a world that was emerging on the frontier of technology. Within time I self taught himself everything from coding to graphic design and wanted to bring my creations to the public by the masses. With the new growing world of mobile applications I could achieve just that. I am always looking to learn something new and provide the best service and information I can. I am really a cool and calm type of guy who is more of a lounge party setting then going to the loudest rock concert ever. When I go out to eat at fancy places the ambiance is what I comment on first, if the ambiance is poor then my food doesn’t go down as good. I look at everything around me that has different shapes and colors which creates ideas I use in my everyday projects. I try to live life to the fullest when life dishes out free time. I love to teach everyone I know who isn’t as tech literate as myself and give them more information to better their decisions. The progression in technology is life, it’s my life.
