Finally, Telus owners can be proud and say “Yes, we have a device that is competitive with US devices.” Telus has carried (and still does) devices such as the Motorola Milestone and HTC Desire, but have never really had an Android device comparable to the Motorola Droid X or HTC EVO, but along with Bell’s Galaxy S Vibrant and Rogers’ Captivate, Telus adds the Samsung Galaxy S Fascinate to the repertoire. This brings Telus’ current Android device count to 7 out of the 15 listed on their site, which is impressive to say the least.
If you don’t know, the specs on the Fascinate are a 4 inch Super AMOLED screen running at a 480 x 800 resolution, 5MP camera with 720p HD video recording, 2GB of app memory, expandable SD storage up to 32GB, an ARM Cortex A8 1GHz processor, FM Radio, and Android Eclair 2.1 to top it all off – easily making this Telus’ best Android offering to date.
This is a good step for Telus to be competitive with the other major carriers, as they didn’t really have a “high-end” device offering by todays standards. Did anyone pick up this device? Looking to pick it up? If you did grab it, how do you like it? Let us know in the comments.
