Nexus S Official : Specs and Where to get it Revealed

| December 6, 2010 | Reply

Look what comes to surface right after they announce that cookie of an OS Gingerbread, the Nexus S. The Nexus S will be Google’s development phone and will get the respected updates when they first release them. It will be the first phone outted with Gingerbread and to me looks like a sleek enough phone to want it either way. What I don’t like is the fact people who might want this phone have to stick with T-Mobile and have it carrier exclusive. I only wish this phone would make it’s way down to Big Red so I can get the exclusive updates quicker than any other consumer. Everyone can grab this from Best Buy December 16th, or if you live in the UK you can go down to your local Carphone Warehouse and grab it Dec 20th. One thing for sure is that this phone has the specs to back it up, check out the source material from BGR and let us know what you think of this Gingerbread toting son of a gun!

UPDATE: Check out the special Nexus S Google Page now! http://www.google.com/phone

We’re still waiting on a formal announcement, but considering the Nexus S has already been shown off by Google CEO Eric Schmidt, why not just put it up on the site? Google’s much rumored Nexus One sequel is now live on the company’s site, along with complete specs that include Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) — which also hasn’t yet been formally announced. T-Mobile is listed as the device’s carrier, and integrated VoIP/SIP support is listed as well. Other notable specs include a 1GHz Hummingbird processor, 16GB of internal storage, a 4-inch WVGA touchscreen, a 5-megapixel camera, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1, NFC support and an anti-finger print coat on the display. While the Nexus One helped usher in the next generation of Android devices when it launched earlier this year, the Nexus S hardly pushes the platform forward with specs that are anything but impressive. Perhaps that’s why a formal announcement is MIA for the time being.

UPDATE: The Nexus S is now official — it launches in the U.S. online and at Best Buy on December 16th, and in the U.K. at Carphone Warehouse on December 20th. Pricing is not yet available but the device will be sold unlocked. Hit the jump for the full press release.
