ViewSonic GTab Kernel finally released!

| December 27, 2010 | Reply

This is very good news for all the ViewSonic GTablet owners out there (my self included)! ViewSonic has finally released the kernel source code for their GTablet device as required by the General Public License (GPL). How is this good news for us GTab owners? Well this means MORE customization of the Tablet as well as custom kernels! I know the Vegan – Tab developers AKA Gtab developers (my GTab team of choice) will be very excited for this news since this opens up a ton more stuff for them to customize!

Anyone else as excited as I am for this news? Anyone pick up a ViewSonic GTab for Christmas and are looking forward to getting more custom ROMs on it? Drop us a comment below and let us know!

FULL REVIEW OF THE VIEWSONIC GTAB COMING LATER THIS WEEK!!! STAY TUNED!!!

Good news for all of you G Tablet users out there — the kernel source has now been released by ViewSonic, in compliance with the General Public License (GPL). For those of you who are not exactly sure how this will affect you, don’t worry. This will make a lot of developers out there happy, since they can now start diving into its code and pulling it apart. Hopefully we’ll see even more custom hacks to spruce up its UI, and kernels opening up very soon. [ViewSonic via the Android Central ForumsThanks to ak11070!
