Samsung planning big unveiling at Mobile World Congress

| January 19, 2011 | Reply

Samsung is planning on announcing “something big” on February 13th… No it’s not FroYo for you Galaxy s owners (sorry had to throw that in there). What it looks like to be is the update to the Galaxy S line. Mobile World Congress is the World equivalent of our CES that just wrapped at the beginning of the month. Their new tag line is “Evolution is FATE.” Sounds kind of ominous if you as me and hopefully it’s something good! This announcement seems to be geared to the international crowd but Sammy was quick to point out that an US announcement is also scheduled for the same MWC.

Anyone else think it’s the update to the Galaxy S line? Think it might be something new and exciting? Drop us a comment below and let us know.

The theme of Samsung’s press event at CTIA last March was “Unpacked.” That’s where we got the Galaxy S phones. And a few sneaky readers have hit up samsungunpacked.com recently and noticed that it’s been updated for a Feb. 13 event at Mobile World Congress, where we’ll see that “Something big is coming,” “discover the next evolution in Samsung Mobile” and “Evolution is FATE.”

What is it? Heck if we know. Place your bets now, folks. We’ll find out in a few weeks. [SamsungUnpackedThanks, Cesar!

Update: Sammy tells us there will be another event at MWC that will have some sort of U.S. focus. Stay tuned!
