Samsung Vibrant 4G sheds Mr. Blurry cam… Rocking Gingerbread!

Well look who finally is coming in nice and clear… The Samsung Vibrant 4G which has been all the talk lately amongst some happy T-Mobile  Samsung users and some down right mad that the new version would be loaded with FroYo (Android 2.2) while their Vibrant were still waiting for the next bump up. Well this might be even better news depending on who is looking at it but the picture below seems to show the new Vibrant 4G rocking some Gingerbread goodness! From the lock screen there is no trace of Touch Wiz but Boy Genius and Engadget report that Samsung is working on getting their customer UI to play nice with Gingerbread. TmoNews is reporting that this device will launch on February 23rd which is not too far from now so Samsung better get to working on that Touch Wiz if they want that date to hold true!

Anyone out there waiting for this device to drop? Skipped the Nexus S in favor of Vibrant 4G? Drop us a comment below and let us know.

Perhaps Samsung’s Vibrant 4G won’t be tied to Froyo, after all. Although the initial leak suggestedAndroid 2.2Boy Genius Report’s managed to obtain a pretty clear in-the-wild shot with a lock screen that looks remarkably reminiscent of the aesthetic touches from Android 2.3 Gingerbread. No TouchWiz UI here, but word on the street is Sammy’s hard at work to remedy that disconnect and make the skin jibe with the new version. And if that’s not enough, TmoNews is claiming a leaked document that indicates Vibrant 4G will launch February 23rd. Back to the picture, though: if that timestamp is at all accurate, and this is really just hours fresh, perhaps that lucky right-handed gent can snap a few more shots while it charges.
