I knew I wouldn’t get much personal work done today! Google has just released the preview SDK enviroment of their new OS Honeycomb and we here at GizmoNinja.com are very excited. This is meant for developers to get the jump on getting all their applications working with the operating system before it comes out. I wanted to show the people that don’t have the SDK on their computer or people who don’t want to go through the hassle just to see the features first hand. The best way I knew how to do this is record from the sluggish emulator and speed it up to show a smoother playback. Due to it being on the emulator it isn’t responsive as it should be and at times tries to catch up as best as it can. This is expected since this is brand spanking new but, fear not Google has assured us they will make an update to make things a little smoother for us. Since it isn’t the best at showing the smoothness, the 3d animations really don’t shine which will be a major part of the operating systems looks. If you look through the video you can see several awesome additions like the new color bounce band that forms when you scroll to the end of a list and the new and improved controls widget hidden in the bottom corner of the clock area. One thing is for sure, Honeycomb is by far a revolution for the Android environment, and we here at Gizmo Ninja welcome it with open arms! The features are hidden throughout and the best way to see the features is watching the video below. Enjoy!
