Android 3.0 SDK released

| February 22, 2011 | Reply

I’m sure you have heard the news that the XOOM will have an unlockable/relockable bootloader which has many of us in the android community excited. Well only moments after Motorola tweeted the news, Android Developers official blog tweeted that Android 3.0 aka Honeycomb SDK has been released. Seems coincidental but this writer thinks that this was planned to build up some steam to the upcoming XOOM release on the 24th. The 3.0 SDK includes new and finalized APIs along with tools to use their Renderscript graphics engine. With this release you may be seeing more Honeycomb roms for your phones or possibly themes for the tablet. We most likely wont be seeing too many roms until Android 3.0 AOSP source has been released which is usually a few weeks after device launch. The future of Honeycomb looks bright with recent news and we will keep updated as the news comes out. Are you guys getting excited about the XOOM or possibly Honeycomb in general? Let us know what you think in the comment section below.
