[RUMOR] New Flagship HTC “Revolver” coming to AT&T with Honeycomb

| February 15, 2011 | 2 Replies

Looks like a tipster has sent some juicy info about a new flagship HTC phone code-named “Revolver” to our friends over at Engadget tonight. This new HTC phone is expected to be AT&T’s next flagship phone after the yet unreleased Motorola Atrix 4G hits stores this March. The Revolver is rumored to launch in the 3rd quarter of this year and be packing some very high-end specs including the Honeycomb OS!?! Yes you heard that right Honeycomb which is supposed to be a tablet only OS is listed on the following slide to be on this phone but as Engadget points out may just be a typo or an older slide or maybe something under Google’s sleeves we have not seen yet like a port of Honeycomb for dual core phones! The Revolver also has some power under the hood with 1.2 GHz dual core processors, 4.3 inch touchscreen, 16GB onboard storage, 1GB of memory, and a 8MP camera on the back as well as a 3MP front facing cam for those video calls everyone loves! The tipster did not mention a solid release date nor a price but did say is should be “coming soon” and show up on the AT&T website this Spring!

Any of you AT&T customers going to hold off on that Atrix 4G now in hopes the Revolver is true? Drop us a comment below and let us know!

Well, this is certainly curious. If the tipster who sent us the image above is to be believed, you’re looking at HTC’s new flagship smartphone, the Revolver, which is supposedly headed to AT&T in the third quarter of this year. Things get curiouser still when it comes to the phone’s supposed specs (shown in the complete image after the break), which clearly list “Android Honeycomb” as the operating system — the sameĀ Honeycomb that’s supposedly only for tablets, which means that this is either a sign of some big changes coming for Android or a clear sign that it’s fake (or at least not completely accurate). As for the rest of the specs, they include a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, a 4.3-inch capacitive touchscreen, 16GB of on-board storage, 1GB of memory, and an 8 megapixel camera ’round back that’s paired with a 3 megapixel front-facing cam. No indication of a price or exact release date, but the tipster did also mention that a “coming soon” image will be appearing on AT&T’s website this spring, so we may possibly get some confirmation sooner rather than later.

Well that is what you do with rumors – you circulate them – do you have any proof this is a fake? If so let us know or we will keep playing telephone :)
