Would you like some Google with your music? Xoom to help launch iTunes competitor?

The long-awaited Google Music may finally be here and launching with Android 3.0 aka Honeycomb. Sanjay Jha hinted that Google will have a music service soon. With the delay of the Xoom pre-orders and possibly the release date, the rumors I have heard is that the  Xoom was delayed because of software tweaking. Soon after I heard about that, this little bit of news popped up and if you can put two and two together then it’s very possible that Google Music could be launching with Xoom. Apple’s iTunes store has a vast majority of the music market right now and continues to grow. The last time Google Music was talked about was during the bid for exclusivity over rights to sell The Beatles albums. When we saw that Google was bidding for them along with Apple and Amazon,  the speculation was that they wanted it for their Google Music. Perhaps if Google won that bid then we would see this launched a lot sooner. Still it’s good to see that competition rising to the occasion. Competition means better products for the consumer.
