Google TV remote app comes to iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch

It looks like Google is finally letting all their non Android phone loving Google TV owners to use their iPhones, iPads, and iPod Touch to control said Google TV with the launch of the Google TV remote app in the Apple market! Features seem to be what the current Android TV remote app has except the ability to share webpages from the mobile phone to the screen but all else like voice search is good to go. Hopefully this will be the way Google TV puts out the remote in the future because I for one do not like having to use an additional keyboard to type into my Google TV.

What are your thoughts Ninjas? Should Google TVs in the future still come with the additional keyboards or should the Remote app be the way to go now? Drop us a comment below and let us know!

Check out the video below to see the remote app in action!

After debuting it on the Android platform in December, the Google TV team has finally released a version of the official remote app for iOS. The interface and features appear to be the same with one key difference, currently the iOS version doesn’t support sharing web pages from mobile to the screen, but everything else like voice search is here and accounted for. It’s good for the team to finally get the long promised app out, but more interesting now is the question of which features will be included in thesecond generation of Google TV hardware once manufacturers like Vizio, Toshiba and Samsung join the mix, hopefully putting the two handed/keyboard kludginess of the past behind us. Check after the break for the YouTube demo, or just grab the free app via the QR code on the official blog or iTunes.
