The rumor mill is a fun ride, isn’t it? As you might remember, we posted a story last week regarding rumors that the Motorola Droid Bionic has been cancelled. The rumor was being reported by pretty much all of the blogs and seemed to stem from Howard Forums chatter. At the same time, though, TechnoBuffalo reported that a source told them the phone was simply being pushed back so that the device could be retooled with better specs.
Well now AndroidCentral is reporting that an unnamed Motorola Spokeswoman told Dow Jones Newswires’ Roger Cheng that the cancellation rumors are indeed false, stating “Based on compelling feedback since the show, we are incorporating several enhancements to make this an even better consumer experience.”. Apparently a second-quarter launch is still possible, but it could be pushed to the third-quarter of this year (I’d bet on tha latter more so than the former).
We don’t know if this means that they want to push more features/power into the phone, or the phone is having some issues and changes are being made or what… But what we do know is that they are apparently still planning on releasing the device on Verizon Wireless at SOME point this year.
