Along with the unveiling of the HTC Sensation yesterday HTC also pulled the wraps off of the new Sense 3.0 UI that the new device, along with the EVO 3D and Flyer tablet, will be running (HTC Sensation first look video) . People immediately started to chatter about how they want Sense 3.0 on their HTC Thunderbolts, Incredible S’s and other already released HTC Android devices. Well it looks like a lot of people are going to be disappointed…
In response to a question “what are that chances of seeing the rather nice Sense 3.0 on my Desire HD?” directed at HTC’s official Twitter account, HTC had the following to say:
Quite a bummer for those with existing HTC devices to say the least. But as most of you know, due the the outstanding work of the Android developer community, all is not lost. This isn’t the first time a manufacturer has stated that x OS isn’t supported on y device only to see somebody port the OS to that very device, finding that it runs flawlessly on it. So while HTC won’t be officially supporting Sense 3.0 on these “older” devices I’m sure we’ll see it running on them none-the-less.
