Infrared satellite was used to attempt to find the city, which contains over 3000 buildings, 1000 tombs and Seventeen pyramids. Now a team is going to start excavating the city which will take years. The buildings were made forms tone and mud so IR can see the density under the surface. The city is the ancient city of Tanis, which was made popular by Indiana Jones supposedly holding priceless treasure. The professor in charge of the project has also said that there will be many more discoveries using this technology. I find it amazing that places that large are still hidden under the ground.
