Netflix Removes Device Check for Android – All Devices Should be a GO

| May 26, 2011 | Reply

There’s an update to the Netflix App for Android today and along with this update comes some good news. They have apparently removed the compatible device check, which means that now the app SHOULD work on ALL Android devices – no hack necessary – even thought the description only lists the original Droid as a new supported device.

As a matter of fact, the changelog even states:

3. Removed check that prevented attempt to playback on unsupported devices

We know as a fact that it is now working on the Nook, Droid X and original Droid but haven’t been able to verify any others yet. So if you have a Netflix account hit up the Market to download the app! Let us know if you have a different device and it works for you!

Thanks Brandon!
