Twitter Adding “Promoted Tweets” to Followers

| July 28, 2011 | Reply

Twitter will begin trying to sell more ads for revenue by supplying “promoted tweets” to its users. The bad news is that right near the top of your feed you will see an ad for whatever company is paying for the service. The good news is that it will only show ads from companies you actually follow, so you wont be forced into ads you have no interest in. If you don’t follow any brands or companies, you wont see any ads. Pretty neat, right? Now if they can just get rid of the spam messages companies already send out using buzzwords you might put in a tweet.
