In Angelholm Sweden, A man started to build a nuclear reactor in his kitchen. He was able to get the radioactive material needed overseas and from a fire alarm. He then ordered a Geiger counter from here in the USA. Good thing, cause he wanted to be safe. The man kept a blog about his project and it was going well until he pretty much turned himself in. He went and asked the Swedish Radiation Authority if what he was doing was OK. Of course it’s not! So they showed up and raided his stuff and threw him in jail. He told the police he never detected any radiation from his project and was set free. In another set of news from this story, someone in Brooklyn, NY has already built a reactor in his house. And I guess it isn’t that unsafe to doso.
