MIUI’s New Lockscreen Might Look Better Than Ice Cream Sandwich

If you were alive and on the internet last night you probably saw the leaked screens of Android Ice Cream Sandwich. To say some people were let down is an understatement. I don’t see a lot of differences at first glance other than some sort of mutitask or recent items icon on the bottom right of the app bar. I am sure under the hood a ton of changes are coming, but will that keep customers happy? iOS5 and WP7 sure are making changes to stay relevant. Android better not end up the myspace of smartphones, struggling to keep it’s product viable and updated with focus.

MIUI is a community built rom for Android phones. While it’s detractors say it looks too much like an iphone it still comes second to none in terms of look, speed and how intuitive the rom is. It’s endlessly customizable and can be made to look about any way youd like. Iphone or stock Android included. The devs have added the ability to customize the lockscreen with shortcuts, gestures and so on. If you might want to try it, do a little Google work to see if your device has a miui rom ready.  Check the video of the new lockscreens and themes below.
