OnStar RemoteLink Updates Enable Device to Car Directions

| August 29, 2011 | 1 Reply

As of tomorow, an update to the OnStar app will be available that sends directions from your device, direct to your vehicle. Cool, right? Updates to the RemoteLink application allows a user to search for a destination on their handset, send the directions to their OnStar equipped car, and then listen to the turn-by-turn directions in the car. From androidcentral:

“Our customer focus is simple connectivity and a seamless user experience,” said Steve Schwinke, OnStar director Advanced System Design. “RemoteLink’s navigation enhancement offers our customers another choice in how they get directions, whether they’re in their car, on their computer, or using their compatible smartphone.”

Bonus feature: users can store up to five common destinations that can be reused from your device. Kind of like the “home” feature on your car’s navigation, remember those beauties? Antiques now…
