Skype For Android Updated To Support 17 new Devices

Skype is having a busy week. First they added an Ipad app, and now they have updated the Android app to support a whole set of devices. before it was reserved for the Nexus phones and maybe one more. Here are the new devices supported:

  • Samsung Galaxy S II
  • Samsung Galaxy S
  • Samsung Droid Charge – Verizon
  • Samsung Galaxy Tab
  • HTC Desire (2.2)
  • HTC Thunderbolt – Verizon
  • HTC Sensation
  • HTC Evo 4G
  • HTC Evo 3D
  • HTC Incredible S
  • HTC Desire HD
  • HTC Flyer
  • LG Revolution – Verizon (2.2)
  • Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY
  • Sony Ericsson Xperia ray
  • Sony Ericsson Xperia mini pro
  • Acer A5

An interesting bit of information comes with this update. Even if your phone is listed, if it isn’t running 2.3 or above you cannot use the front camera. This is a limitation of the OS, not Skype. There are a few phones there i see that still only have “official” froyo, but I think they all have GB roms. Catch the download link below if you want to try it out.
