The History Of Portable Music Players In One Great Infographic [Infographic]

| August 21, 2011 | Reply

I remember having a Sony Walkman way back when I was young. I most likely bought it from some kid down the street who always stole things and sold them really cheap. After that I bought a portable cd player with the cassette tape attachment so I could listen to CD’s in my car. Then I found one of the first mp3 players for a car which was the size of a 3.5 inch drive bay for a computer. I think I installed that in 2000. Now I stream music to my car via bluetooth through my cell phone. Moore’s law works in the case of portable music for sure, and this infographic will take you way back 50 years to show you how it all began.
