Wireless Charging Coming To An Electric Vehicle Near You

| August 2, 2011 | Reply

Since the world powers want us to use electric cars that most likely get the electricity from a  coal-burning pollutant filled power plant, we will pretend that’s better than oil based fuel for now. That is until the next great alternative energy idea comes about. Until then, a company named Evatran has come up with a wireless charging system for your EV. It is currently being tested on the Chevy Volt and should work with all EV type vehicles when it hits retail. All you need is an adapter put inside the car, and the floor pad that will do the charging. The company says the initial cost will run you about $2000 and should be out some time in 2012. For now they are looking for more testers with Chevy Volts. If you have one and might be interested, shoot them an email. The company claims the charger is about 92% efficient so you should kill your ultra expensive battery by using it.
