Find My Iphone Helps Locate Plane Crash Victims In Ocean

| September 7, 2011 | Reply

A plane crashed over the Chilean Sea this past weekend. Unfortunately all 21 passengers were lost. Making it worse is that it was a military airplane and the Military had no idea where the plane went down. One of the victim’s family members remembered the victim had an iPhone and tried to use the “find my iPhone” feature. Amazingly the phone not only survived the crash, it was able to give a place on a  map and the military used it to locate the wreckage and the bodies. That is a great example of how technology and the idea of being accessible at all times just may come in handy.
