HTC Explorer Offers Another Mid Range Android Phone

Ah, how the time passes so quickly. Just a couple years ago the Motorola Droid Changed the mobile world. It brought about an Android device to Verizon and brought the OS some vulnerability. Seeing the commercials for turn by turn blew everyone’s mind while giving Garmin headaches. Fast forward two years and the specs n that phone would be laughable for the $200 price tag the phone commanded.

Enter the time of budget Android phones. Today we have the HTC Explorer. It features a 600MHz processor, 3.2-inch HVGA display, 384MB/512MB RAM/ROM, and five-megapixel camera (no front facing). The phone will be loaded with Gingerbread and have a sense 3.5 overlay. I don’t know how a 600mhz phone can run sense 3.5 but 1 ghz phones currently out by HTC wont be supported by sense 2.5 because of “hardware limitations” but sure, why not. It should be released during this fall and it likely won’t be announced by HTC tomorrow at their presser. Stay tuned for more details.
