Samsung Fights Back, Looks to Block Sale of iPhone 4S

| October 5, 2011 | Reply

In the latest episode of the Apple vs. Samsung/everybody lawsuit battle, Samsung is now trying to block the sale of the newly announced iPhone 4S in the key international markets of France and Italy, according to The Wall Street Journal.

Samsung, whose Galaxy Tab and Galaxy Phones have been blocked for sale in various countries by Apple (some Galaxy phones in the Netherlands and the Galaxy Tab 10.1 in Australia and Germany), is claiming that Apple is infringing on three Samsung patents with their new device. They claim that Apple didn’t properly access 3G technology standards that are covered by patents given to an international body by Samsung. A senior Samsung executive is quoted as saying, “For as long as Apple does not drop mobile telecommunications functions, it would be impossible for it to sell its i-branded products without using our patents. We will stick to a strong stance against Apple during the lingering legal fights,”.

More to come as this develops…
