Steve Jobs Has Died (1955-2011). Some quick thoughts….

| October 5, 2011 | Reply

Just a day after the first Keynote he had missed in a long time announcing a new product, Steve Jobs has passed away. There isn’t a lot of information right now but it isn’t a troll this time spreading a rumor. Whether you love or hate Apple there is no denying that Steve Jobs was one of if not the most Influential CEO’s of our lifetimes. You couldn’t name most companies CEO’s and probably not even Microsoft’s. Some not even Google. But you know Steve Jobs.He made ordinary devices originally designed to make life easier an art form and a must have.

If you head over to Apple’s website you will see the announcement and this quote:

Apple has lost a visionary and creative genius, and the world has lost an amazing human being. Those of us who have been fortunate enough to know and work with Steve have lost a dear friend and an inspiring mentor. Steve leaves behind a company that only he could have built, and his spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple.

It’s hard not to think about how “in the know” the guys standing up yesterday at Apple’s presser was. Some blogs took to the presenters saying the charisma and excitement wasn’t there without Steve Jobs. I am willing to bet this was a very good reason there wasn’t much excitement by the top guys at Apple. My favorite quote by Steve which was made to the current CEO as he worked for Pepsi was “Do you want to sell sugar-water for the rest of your life, or do you want to change the world?”. That seems to be how Steve thought as a whole. Always trying to change the world. RIP Steve jobs.
