Kindle Fire Is Out For About a Day, Gets Source Code Released And Easy Root

| November 16, 2011 | Reply

The kindle fire is already a success. Pre orders have said to be in the hundreds of thousands, and Apple is seeing a slow down in iPad sales. With that success and the $199 price tag many of us wondered if the kindle would be the next tablet to have really good dev support. Yesterday Amazon released the source for the kindle fire and last night the e-boot reader(tablet) got the super one click root treatment. This should leave the Kindle wide open for devs, and it should be just a matter of time until we see some Honeycomb or even ICS port on the device.
