We’ve already seen glimpes of the Motorola Xoom 2 from various leaks, but now it has become official. Today, Motorola revealed the Xoom 2 and Xoom 2 Media Edition.

The Xoom 2 packs a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, Android 3.2 (Honeycomb), 1GB RAM, 16GB storage, and a 10.1-inch display featuring Gorilla Glass. Also on-board are a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera and five megapixel rear camera. The Xoom 2 also features Motorola’s new “Splash-guard” protection (protects from water) that they talked about at the Droid RAZR unveiling. Styling-wise, the tablet looks pretty similar to the original Xoom but with the angled corners like the RAZR.

The Xoom 2 Media Edition features the same specs as the Xoom 2, except for its smaller size at 8.2-inches. Motorola is promising a 20-percent graphics performance improvement over the original Xoom.

U.S. release dates have not yet been disclosed, but the tablets will be released in the UK and Ireland around the middle of this month. You can sign up for product updates in order to get the latest on Xoom 2 availability (source link). Check out the product introduction video below:
