SpareOne has unveiled a new cell phone for emergency or travel use that is a pretty nifty idea. The phone is no frills, but runs on a single AA battery. On one of those batteries it can hold a charge for up to 15 years or provide 10 hours talk time. This sounds like a very good idea for camping or adventuring into unknown areas as well. You could just keep it in your glove box as a spare, or give it to a kid who shouldn’t be texting. The phone should be available for multiple networks in Q1 2012 and will run you $50 with a battery.
