ATT Announces The Impressive Titan II Windows Phone. Not To Be Confused With The Tytn II Windows Mobile Phone
Cell phone names are terrible. They all have these names that make them sound like they could rise from the depth of the earth and give you power over the masses while holding them. That being said, ATT announced a pretty impressive phone today that carries the same name as a previous phone that was powerful for its time.
The HTC Tytn II was also known as the tilt 2. It featured WM 6.5, a slide out keyboard, a 2.8 inch screen and a 400mhz processor. In fact, you could even throw Android on the phone if you wanted. It is pretty poorly spec’d now but this phone was out just before the iPhone and the Tytn I was out a couple of years before.
The new Titan II is a Windows Phone based handset. This is likely one of the first phones that will be eligible for the “tango” update due out next quarter. The phone will sport a 4.7 inch super LCD display,LTE connectivity, a 16 mp camera on the back and a 1.3 mp camera on the front. The phone does come with a single core processor which is moe than capable enough to remain speedy and without lag. If you haven’t used a WP7 phone, you don’t understand how smooth the UI is even with a small processor. The phone will only run $199 and should be available April 8. I am kind of jealous of the 16mp shooter since all Android phones seem to have crap cameras unless you are in direct sunlight.
