You may or may not be aware that the wildly popular Angry Birds series of games is set to expand on March 22nd. Rovio, the creators of the Angry Birds franchise has been throwing out hints about the new game for a while now, but up until now we haven’t seen any screenshots or game-play footage. Today, Rovio published a video that, with the help of an astronaut on the international space station, explains how the physics of the new game will work – and also gives a peek at some actual game-play.
There has been a lot of buzz about the franchise getting a little stale, with Angry Birds, Angry Birds Seasons, and Angry Birds Rio all offering something a little different but at the same time being largely the same. Angry Birds Space looks like it might provide a much needed refresher with its totally different physics, which should challenge users to come up with different strategies than what they’ve gotten used to. Check out the video below to see the game for yourself (Astronaut, Don Pettit, talks about zero-gravity physics for much of the video. If you don’t care to watch that part you can skip to about the 3:05 mark to see the actual game):
