Half Of All US Cell Phone Users Now Own Smartphones

| March 29, 2012 | Reply

I am surprised it took as long as it has. But the past year has been a big step, and the trend of phone sales that that smartphones show no signs of slowing down. In the past three months almost 70% of new phone buyers purchased a smartphone. In the past year alone the percentage of subscribers who own smartphones has jumped from 36% to 50%. By the end of this year that number may be around 70% outright. As more people get out of their two year plan or as their old feature phone simply dies those people will be tempted to get a smartphone because of the ease of use and ability the phone brings to people that are mobile.
