HTC Giving Android 4.0 Love To All Kinds Of Devices

| March 14, 2012 | Reply

HTC announced which devices would be getting the Android ICS treatment today. Much to the surprise of many people and delight of others, many 3G devices will be getting the anticipated update. The list of the devices is as follows:

  • DROID Incredible 2 by HTC
  • HTC Amaze 4G
  • HTC Desire S
  • HTC Desire HD
  • HTC EVO 3D
  • HTC EVO Design 4G
  • HTC Incredible S
  • HTC Sensation
  • HTC Sensation XL
  • HTC Sensation 4G
  • HTC Sensation XE
  • HTC Raider
  • HTC Rezound
  • HTC Rhyme
  • HTC Thunderbolt
  • HTC Vivid

Some phones even a year old will get the newest OS. I am quite sure my mind is telling me that’s how it should be. Being Android the fragmentation is so bad that I am the type that waits for a new technology or new OS announcement before I will get a new device. It’s sad that you cannot just go and buy whatever device is newest and expect the updates to be speedy and kept up to date. With high-powered dual and quad-core phones being the new standard it will be hard for manufacturers to blame a lack of updates on the lack of power. No word yet from HTC on when these devices will start getting updates but I imagine some will be in the very near future.
