LG Set To Launch The First 55 Inch OLED TV In May For $8000

At CES 2012, LG unveiled a 55 inch OLED tv that was said to be available this year. It looks like the release should coincide with the Cannes Film Festival which runs from May 16-27. OLED will look better, last longer and use less energy than any current TV platform out. As of now the price is ridiculous just like LED was when it was introduced. But it should only be a year or two before the OLED tv’s are more affordable which will drive down the price of other TV technology. I think LCD is on it’s last leg here, and it is probably well deserved.
