Verizon made it clear they only want LTE devices coming out on their network this year. At the time of that note, I wondered about people who wanted a budget phone. While the Lucid still forces a data plan on customers it will give people a change to get a brand new phone for just $80. The specs aren’t too terrible. You get a 1.2Ghz dual core processor, a 4 inch screen, Android 2.3 with the ability to run 4.0 and dual cameras. I a sure the screen isn’t crisp and the phone will feel plastic and cheap but what do you expect for $80? The phone should be out on March $29 and will require a two year contract as well. This phone may be released to undercut the new $100 nokia Windows phone, but for the extra $20 you’d get much better phone for the money.
