Verizon’s iPad With 4G Will Offer Free Mobile Hotspot Feature. AT&T Still Thinking About It

When the announcement was made yesterday that the new iPad would feature a mobile hotspot I am sure many of you had the same thought as I did. “This thing is going to burn through data on its own. And How much will this cost?” Well the good news is the data plan that covers every other tablet will also cover the new iPad. Roughly $10 per GB. Apple also stated that the hotspot would work “where carriers allow” and my thoughts instantly went to Verizon and the way they seem to want to control everything about everybody. Well, after doing some research Engadget figured out that ATT is the one who isn’t set to offer a hotspot yet and Verizon units will ship with this feature intact. Better yet, like other tablets there will be no additional cost for tethering from the iPad. If this was one of the main points in deciding on Verizon or AT&T, then you have your answer.
