Archos Announces A 9.7 Inch Tablet Running ICS For Just $249

Archos announced a new line of “elements” tablets today focusing on being budget friendly. The first out of the barn will be the Carbon coming in at 9.7 inches at a cost of $249.99. The tablet will boast an IPS screen, 1GB of ram running ICS and both front and rear facing cameras. The processor is just a 1ghz Cortex A8 which is a little weak these days. You will also get 16gb of built in memory as well as a microsd and full usb slot for expansion. The device also seems to lack bluetooth and gps capabilities so the low cost does cost you some key things you may like in a tablet. You may just want to save the $50 and get a more powerful, more feature packed machine in the Nexus 7. No word on when this tablet will be available but it will likely start showing up online later this month.
