[RANT on RUMORS] iPhone 5

| July 26, 2012 | Reply

I’m pretty sure anyone can become a tech blogger now. Multiple trusted and reliant technology and news sites have been calling the next generation iPhone, the iPhone 5. Let’s have a history lesson, shall we?

The iPhone was introduced in 2007. (That’s generation 1.)
The iPhone 3G was introduced in 2008. (That’s generation 2.)
The iPhone 3GS was introduced in 2009. (That’s generation 3.)
The iPhone 4 was introduced in 2010. (That’s generation 4.)
The iPhone 4S was introduced in 2011. (THIS IS 5!)
The “New”, “4G”, “Next”, “Insert your moniker here”, iPhone is likely to be introduced in September of 2012. This would make 6.

Why in the ever-loving world would  Apple call the SIXTH generation iPhone, the iPhone 5?
