Verizon To Allow The Galaxy S3 To Be Unlocked With An Unlocker Tool? [rumor]

| July 14, 2012 | Reply

Take this one with a pound of salt. Rumors are flying all over XDA that Verizon is set to release some sort of unlock tool to open the bootloader for the S3. A couple of screenshots have been posted with people speaking to Verizon reps via email or chat, and and they have noted the bootloader will be unlockable in the future. If this is the case, good on Verizon. And it’s actually smart for them to make hackers void warranties. They are there to protect their bottom lines and some people mess phones up badly and return them because they screwed their own phone up. No official word from Verizon yet from any official communication, so stay tuned for more info.
