Well, maybe you can’t unlock the bootloader persay, but you can flash an unsecure bootloader. XDA member AdamOutler has come up with a tool that works on Linux and Mac that will leave you rooted with an open bootloader to do whatever you would like with your device. AdamOutler joined in on the S3 development a while back and I helped raise him some cash to get an S3 donated for him to rip apart and diagnose. It’s nice to see Verizon lose once again. Check the link to go and flash the unsecure bootloader. I would caution you to keep in mind that the roms out as of today are made for a Kexec recovery, and not for an unsecure bootloader. So you may want to wait a few days for the new roms to settle in with a normal recovery.
